He said that everyone was very disappointed by the US Federal Reserve and its President Jerome Powell, "where he was raising interest very quickly, and currently cutting it at a very slow pace."
U.S. President Donald Trump renewed his attack on the Federal Reserve and its President Jerome Powell, despite a third rate cut in 2019.
"Everybody is very disappointed in Jerome Powell and the Federal Reserve, where he was raising interest very quickly, and is currently cutting it at a very slow pace," Trump said in a tweet on Thursday.
Trump said the US manufacturing sector needed lower interest rates than Germany, Japan and all other countries.
Earlier this month, data showed that the manufacturing sector in the US fell to its lowest level in more than 10 years, reinforcing fears of a recession in the US economy.
"We are by far the largest and most powerful country, but the Federal Reserve puts us in a bad competitive position. China is not our problem, it is the Federal Reserve. We will win anyway."
